Google Earth is an excellent source of anomalous images and mysterious photographs. UFOs, mysterious creatures, and other oddities have all been discovered by various people with an eye for detail and the willingness to sift through thousands of digital pictures. On Wednesday, August 10, 2011, one such person discovered several bizarre anomalies while scouring Google Earth's images of the Vatican in Rome.

That person is americanbunker. He is the same party responsible for finding figures of mysterious creatures, UFOs, and flying-saucer shapes in the bleak landscape of Antarctica recently. Now, he has set his sights on the Vatican, and the results are surprising.

No, there are no UFOs or little grey aliens at the Vatican (at least none that we know about), but there are plenty of bizarre aspects of the landscape that necessitate a closer look. Here are a few highlights of the video.

Take a look at the video on the left side of this page. At the :52 point of the video, you will see a caption that reads: "Next Pic Street Level Vatican Side Building." That's where the real fun begins. In a zoomed-in image of some healthy green trees, there is an unnatural distortion in the leaves and branches.

In addition, one of the trees appears to be growing above a dome. The next image is a close-up of the drooping tree. This is followed by a bush that is riddled with unusual tubular shapes. The foliage on the trees is distorted just like the leaves on the trees, but in the opposite direction.

There are other unexplained white spots, distortions, and shapes in the video. Check it out on the left side of this page. How many anomalies can you spot? Comments are welcome at the bottom of the page.
